WOW! I've dined at many of the top Mexican restaurants in Texas, and I am here to report that the food at La India Bonita in League City is among the best. No hyperbole here. It is that good. The mostly breakfast (served all day) menu is simple. The food's execution is flawless. The flavors are bold and balanced. As a guy who grew up working at a Mexican Restaurant, and winner of a chili cook-off, I cannot think of anything I'd do differently. Here, they pay attention to details. Refried beans, for example are authentic - full of pork flavor - not an afterthought. The flour tortillas are served fresh, a perfect "spoon" to savor the complimentary charro beans packed with flavors of pork, onions, jalapeno and spices. Free salsa bar is fresh and puts the meal over the top. My favorite Mexican dish for breakfast is Huevos Rancheros, over easy on the eggs. IMHO, you need to go to the Riverwalk in San Antonio and pay 3-4 times the money to get a dish this well prepared. This place rocks.

We used to come when we lived in the area at the old location. It was just as good as I remember it if not better. My order was great. They have you covered on all the go to Mexican dishes. The staff is friendly and the restaurant layout and ambience works. It used to be an old bank converted to a walk up order area with kitchen behind and dine in tables, then an enclosed area with more seating area someone doing music on a Sunday morning. One of my favorites parts was the condiment bar with jalapeño and onions mix, onion, limes, tomatoes, pico de gallo, salsas + AND some hot charro beans trays. That one I didn't get a pic of so you'll need to come check it out yourself. If I had any recommendations I would only say to use fresher limes. It's worth the trip and you won't be disappointed. This is my go to spot again whenever I'm in the area.

We ordered breakfast tacos to go on a Friday morning. Super easy to call ahead, staff were friendly. The tacos were delicious. We ordered egg/chorizo/bean, bacon/bean/potato/cheese, and a couple of Barbacoa tacos. You can build these however you like and they don't skimp you on the meat! I really loved that they offered pico in addition to the traditional sauces.

July 22, 2024 Update!!! They are Back!!!! Everyone that was familiar with Silverio and his wife's place before it was taken out by a car knew their food was the best!!! It took them a little while to recover from that devastating blow to their business and Recover they have!!! This all happened before we moved two hours away almost three years ago now. I had saw they were open via their FB page and couldn't wait to come to town to check out their new place! Today was the day! They have a really nice parking lot now and much spacier! I was glad to see that the parking was full of cars when I pulled in! I walked through the louvered area which is real 3 an open air covered patio area protected by walls and louvers with plenty of tables! But today everyone was inside through another door in the A/C!!! When I walked in I was amazed at how much more room there was, but it was really nice as well!!! Plenty of tables and booths. An order area and they now accept credit/debit cards. There is a really nice overhead menu board with pictures! Under the menu board is an open bar that you can see through to see what's going on in the kitchen. The cooks prepare orders while you go find your seat. They will call your number that is on your order receipt and you raise your hand so they can see where you're seated and bring it to you! They also still have the Condiments bar towards the back next to the exit door with the Salsas, onions and Cilantro, Pico, diced tomatoes, onions, and Jalapenos. Next to those are the free pinto beans and cups that you can have with your meal while you're waiting on your order! The drinks are in a cooler next to the order counter. The food is even better in my opinion than it was before and it was really good then!!! It just seems even better now, or I just really missed them being gone so long!!! I think it's probably because I've been looking forward to this day for more than three years skiing with the rest of the customers that have always loved the food here and those that heard about it from before the wreck and never had the chance to try it!!! I could tell by the full parking lot everyone is really excited to have their favorite breakfast and lunch taco food place back in business!!!! I'm so glad they are back!!! My wife and me both have really missed our breakfast here!
